The House of Praise Worship Center (Pastored by Leroy Henderson) in Houston, Texas hosted the First Annual Woman of Tomorrow Brunch Fundraiser on August 12, 2017.  The Holy Spirit gave Pastor Henderson the vision to found The MISSY Scholarship Foundation in honor of his deceased sister, Pleshette Ann Henderson also know as Missy.  The scholarship fund is designed to provide assistance to financially challenged, yet deserving African American Women seeking education assistance.  Recipients will receive assistance with financial aid, books, and housing.

Pamela Jarmon-Wade was the guest speaker with an inspirational and motivational speech on the importance of investing in the education of our future generations.  Pamela said, "I value education, investing in our children, and encouraging people to never give up on their dreams, goals, and desires."   She also gave an overview on the state of the economy in Houston and what can help students to be prepared and succeed in the new economy and have a prosperous future.

Gospel Recording Artist, Delores Brown, sang two songs and Sister DJ Ray of the Hiram Clarke MBC blessed the audience with her ministry of praise dance.  Sister Denise Thompson coordinated the program that was held at the Hotel Preet Pavilion.  The food was catered by Jay The Caterer and the most delicious teacakes were made by Beulah Henderson.

Anyone interested in applying for a Pleshette Ann Henderson "Missy Scholarship" can contact the scholarship fund program director, Denise Thompson at 281-475-5921 or send an email to leroy@houseofpraiseworshipcenter.org.  Donations can be made online at www.houseofpraiseworshipcenter.org.  Pamela closed out her speech with two things that she wanted the audience to take away:  A quote by Belva Davis, "Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality.  If you can dream it, you can achieve it." and a scripture in Phil. 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
